What is the Minimal Dark Template?

The Minimal Dark template strips away all distractions and puts the focus squarely on your title. A near-black background (#0f0f0f), centered white text, and a thin horizontal accent bar in your brand color above the title. That's it.

The title is set at 52px, 700 weight — the largest of all OGPixel templates — making it incredibly readable even on small mobile previews. The subtitle at 22px in muted gray (#888) provides secondary context without competing with the title.

This template follows the design principle of typographic hierarchy: one dominant element (your title), one supporting element (subtitle), and nothing else. It's the OG image equivalent of a well-formatted blog post headline.

Customization Guide

Accent Color: The thin horizontal bar above the title is your only color element. Make it count — it should match your brand or website theme. Blue for tech, green for finance, pink for creative, orange for energy.

Title length: This template handles longer titles well thanks to the 52px size and centered layout. Up to ~60 characters works great. For very long titles, the text will wrap naturally.

Subtitle: Works best as a one-sentence summary or teaser. Keep it under 80 characters. On mobile, the subtitle may be truncated in some platform previews, so put the most important words first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this template the most popular?

Minimal Dark is popular because it works for almost any content. There are no theme-specific design elements — just clean typography on a dark background. It fits blogs, personal sites, portfolios, and articles equally well.

Does the dark background waste ink when printed?

OG images are digital-only (used for social media link previews), so printing is not a concern. The dark background makes your content stand out in predominantly white social feeds.

Can I make the accent bar thicker?

The accent bar is fixed at 60x4px as part of the template design. You can change its color, but not its size. If you need more visual impact, try the Bold Gradient template instead.

Is dark mode better for social media?

Dark backgrounds tend to stand out more on platforms with white/light feed backgrounds (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn). The contrast makes your link preview catch the eye as people scroll.
